Hazrat Sadiq Shah was born in the month of Shawwal 1170 Hijri(1762 AD) and died on 11th of Ramzan 1265(1857AD).
Every year at the urs of Shah Shaheed, Kalaams written by Hazrat Sadiq Shah are recited. When young, he was very strong and rebelious. In fact, he was a dacoit. At the age of 40, his life took a turn towards spiritual path. His grandfather was disciple of Sufi Shah Shaheed. So, Sufi Sadiq Shah went to Miranpur, seeking spiritual guidance and came under the wings of Hazrat Fazalullah Shah Qalander Datta Pir. This was in the year 1210H (1802AD). He was very devoted to his murshid,and, in the same token, his murshid showered a great deal of affection towards him. Sufi Sadiq Shah is known as the great disciple of Dargha Jhoke Sharif. He has penned many sonnets and kalaams in love of his murshid, all of which are compiled in a book called Shah Sadiq Jo Rasalo.
Sufi Sadiq Shah's love for his murshid is beyond any explanation. He reached heights of spirituality and piety. Such were the supernatural powers bestowed on him that he was able to see a reflection of his murshid in a mirror while both of them were in their hometowns, thousands of miles apart . When his murshid was taking the last breath of this world, vision blacked out for that moment and Sufi Sadiq Shah knew something was wrong.
Sufi Sadiq Shah started to pass on the teachings of his murshid to others and help them find spirituality. His circle of desciples increased . The Sajjada Nashin of Dargha paid enormous respect to Faqeer Sadiq Shah. In 1265H(1857AD) on 11th of Ramazan Sufi Sadiq Shah left this mortal world. Sufi Sadiq Shah's shrine is in his hometown Umerkort where every year they have urs.
